That girl routine: How to finally become that girl
Table of Contents
It’s never too late to become that girl. Becoming That girl is a trend where you do great things that will help you become a better version of yourself. it’s doing what you know you’re capable of doing to help you reach your dream life while being disciplined enough to be consistent. I think it’s a great trend because it allows you to focus on things that truly matter and put yourselves first.
However, the routines I have seen are quite unhealthy because they are unrealistic and can easily get you burnt out. It doesn’t have to be like that so I am here to help.
In today’s post, I will be sharing a healthy That Girl morning routine, night routine, and a few more tips on how to be that girl.

That girl’s morning routine
Wake up early
You don’t need to start your day as early as 4 a.m. It’s completely unnecessary. What’s more important is that you should try and be waking up at the same time daily.
If you’re still in school, you can start your day by 5:30 or 6:00 a.m. Whenever I wake up early, I get so much done that day and I’m most productive in the morning. If you want to start waking up earlier than usual, I highly recommend sleeping earlier. That was what helped me to become a morning person.
A great tool to have is a sunlight alarm clock. This allows artificial sunrise to fill your room helping you to wake up easier.
Make your bed
Making your bed in the morning just helps a lot because you just get it done and do not have to worry about it again.
It also gives you a sense of accomplishment because you just woke up and you have gotten something done already, This also helps you to make sure you don’t go back to bed later.
Exercise
This probably has to be the most difficult part of my morning routine but it’s necessary. You have to move your body in some way and exercising is the way to go or yoga. You don’t need to exercise daily but try and do so 2-3 times a week. I enjoy skipping so I do that a lot and it’s a great way to get your whole body shaking and moving. A simple hack to try is to invest in cute, good-quality gym sets. This will get you motivated to wear them and work out.
Shower
Hop into the shower and get yourself squeaky clean. If you need more details about my shower routine, have a whole post about it. Here are my top body care product picks and great washes for glowing skin. A lot of good stuff in these posts so make sure you check it out.
Skincare/makeup
My favorite part of my morning routine. I find applying skincare products to be so therapeutic. My skincare routine is very minimal. Cleanse, tone, serum, moisturize, and sunscreen. You cannot forget that sunscreen.
If I had to give you one advice it would be to take care of your skin. it doesn’t matter if you’re a teenager or an adult. You might not see the benefits now but in 15 years’ time, you will. I believe that when you have clear and glowing skin. it boosts your confidence and your makeup looks so much better so invest in some great skincare products that are made for your skin type. I am currently obsessed with Korean skincare and I have written ALOT about it. If you’re just getting started with Korean skincare and need some help. check out these posts:

If you love to apply makeup, please go ahead and do so. I want to learn how to properly use makeup this year so let’s hope it goes well. So far, all I do is apply a compact powder, lipgloss, and mascara because my lashes are long thanks to this homemade lash serum and sometimes liner when I feel like it. Less is more when it comes to skincare and makeup.
Get your work done for the day
Before I start any work for the day, I like to journal. If you want to get into journalling but don’t know how to start, I highly recommend the 5-minute journal. it’s very easy to use and amazing.
If you want to be really productive, make a to-do list and write down things you need to get done for the day. Before I start working I like to look into my notion to see what I need to get done, and also set some daily goals. I absolutely love my notion template because I was able to plan my entire life in there and keep track of so many important things in my life like my finances, my reading list, my meals, workouts, and so much more. Check out my notion setup and this is the exact notion template I’m using. I can’t recommend it enough!
That girl night routine
It’s evening time and you’re done for the day now it’s time for your nighttime routine
Unwind
You probably had a busy day this is the time to just unwind. Everyone has their own way of unwinding so you probably have yours. Do that. My favorite way of unwinding is catching up on my K-dramas or just lying on the bed listening to a podcast. It’s always nice and peaceful.
Workout
Some prefer to work out in the evening than in the morning so if you’re one of those people, time to work out. Move your body and stay in shape. Remember, you’re doing this for yourself, and trust me, your future self will thank you for that.
shower
I love a warm shower at the end of the day to wash away all the sweat and stress. Take your time and do your shower routine.
Skincare
Never sleep with makeup on. Take your time and do your skincare routine to maintain that glow. My nighttime skincare routine is also very minimal, all I do is double cleanse, tone, serum, retinol, eye cream, and moisturize. Here are some recommendations of products for the steps mentioned:
- Best Korean cleansing oils
- Best Korean toners for oily skin
- Best Korean retinol products for beginners
- Best Korean moisturizers
Do other things
If you have any unfinished work, use this time to do that. If you’re still a student, try and study every night before bed. I have so many posts to help you in my college life blog section but here are a few to read now

Sleep early
Once you’re done with what you have to do, go to bed. I always try and go to bed before 11:30 p.m. This allows me to get a good night’s sleep. You should also do the same.
As you can see, that girl routine is one of the easiest and healthiest routines to form. All that really matters is that you’re doing what you love and consistently. Consistency is very important because, without it, we won’t get the results we want.
