5 things you can learn for free and make money

April 17, 2020rumaisah

Hey guys
In today’s post, I will be talking about something a little different from what I normally talk about here on my blog. With lockdown still going on and we have no idea for how long we will have to remain inside, boredom is every body’s best friend now.

I know the stress and anxiety that this whole situation came with but I wouldn’t advise anyone to spend this entire lockdown doing nothing to help yourself.

One good thing that came with the pandemic is that we have a lot of free time that we don’t know if we will ever get again in our lives and to make things even better, a lot of your dream online courses, ebooks and softwares are having massive sales that you get to see only during Black Friday. Which means, this is the perfect time to grab them and learn as much as you can.

A lot of our excuse back then was “I don’t have a lot of free time to work on my hobby or passion”. Well, now you do so make good use of it.

What I will be talking about are 5 things I think you can start learning today that are not only fun once you get to understand them but can make you a lot of money after this pandemic.

Without any further delay, let’s jump right into it

1.Blogging

5 thing you can learn today

This just has to be the first on my list. Let me tell you this, blogging is not dead and will never die as long as people are still searching for things on google and other search engines.

I know a lot of people who started blogging just for fun and because they loved sharing their knowledge with other people and now they are making tons of money. Some are even making up to 5 figures a month!

Blogging is very easy to start but quite hard to maintain. I learned to blog all by myself from sites like wpbeginner.com , startamomblog.com and my favorite of all time, Blogtrovert.com. I will spend hours reading all about blogging and jotting down points. If you love writing, then blogging is for you.

Blogging has evolved so much. If you don’t like typing, then you can always start a podcast. If you’re very confident and not camera-shy, then starting a YouTube channel might be what you need to do.

Note: my lovely friend and the founder of Blogtrovert.com offers great services like blog setup and so much more. She is very affordable and she knows her stuff very well so you are in safe hands. If you are willing to start a blog, then please head over to Blogtrovert.com and message her.

2.Photography

5 things you can learn today

A lot of people are getting into photography these days. Do you know why? Because it allows you to be very creative and it’s a very profitable business. Taking pictures is so fun. You don’t need to have a digital camera (but you will need one if you want to make it your side hustle). Just your smartphone can do so much magic. There are a lot of free courses on photography on skillshare and you can learn a lot on YouTube alone like editing, camera settings, etc.

3.Makeup

Makeup is the key to my heart. Buy/send me makeup and I will love you forever. Do you know the major reason why I love makeup? You can never stop experimenting with it. New trends are coming up every day and they keep getting better.

I learned all about makeup and how to apply it by myself by watching a lot of YouTube tutorials. I started slowly from how to draw my eyebrows to different ways to apply eyeshadow. Once I have perfected how to apply it on myself, I started practicing on my friends and family and before you know it, I started getting clients.

you can learn makeup by yourself and once you’re good at it, you can start taking bookings. If you’re in college just like me, this is the perfect side hustle because college events/parties are always happening and girls will always want to look good.

I have a free ebook that talks about everything you need to know about makeup so make sure you grab a copy for yourself and start from there. Remember, no knowledge is a waste.

4.Illustration

5 things you can learn today

Let me be honest with you, the only thing that is stopping me from learning how to draw is because I don’t have an iPad yet. It is among my “things I want to own” list and I am currently saving for that already.

Illustration is amazing and I envy people that are so good at it. I sometimes find myself spending hours on YouTube watching people draw objects and cute characters on their ipads.

there are a lot of illustration courses that are on sale and some are even free so if you love drawing or calligraphy, then make sure you take an illustration course to improve your work. YouTube is also there for you because there is nothing you will not see/find on YouTube. It’s just a search away from you.

People are now paying dollars for illustrations that they can use on their album( if they are artists), on their merch and even for little things like their display picture on their social media accounts and YouTube intro videos. The market is very profitable and demand is increasing.

5.Learn a new language

There was a challenge that is happening on social media where people talk in different languages that they are fluent in. Can you believe that some people can speak up to 5 languages fluently? Those people have some type of superpowers. Not really, they learned them.

Is there a language you have always wanted to know how to speak? Spanish? French? Korean? Well, this is the perfect time to do so.

I am currently learning French on this language learning app called Duolingo. It has a free and a paid option but so far, the free one is more than enough. Since I am a total beginner in french, this app is okay but when I have reached a certain level, I want to purchase a professional course for it.

You can try the app as well if you’re a total beginner for the language you want to start learning and trust me, you won’t regret it. I also sometimes watch videos from, of course, YouTube and those videos have been helpful. I know how to say quite a lot of things now in French and I have never been so proud of myself.

You must be curious of what apps I use on my phone. Well here is what’s on my iPhone and here are the favorites apps I use to stay organized and productive.

That’s all I have for you today. I hope you enjoyed this post and please let me know if you want more posts like this.

Before i end this, i will love to say dont be hard on yourself. Everyone is stressed and some are not even in the right mental space to do anything. Its okay to relax and no do anything. Take everything bit by bit and you will be fine.

What are you currently learning during this lockdown? Let me know in the comments section below.

This is so perfect with what’s going on right now! I need to get better with my makeup. I’m not bad at it, but I’m not good enough to do other people’s makeup.
