If you binge-watch YouTube the way I do, you know that monthly reset videos are trendy right now and to be honest, I love it.
A Monthly reset routine is something you do just once a month to help you set up your month for success. Ever since I started doing these monthly reset routines in 2022, they have changed my life and Thanks to it, I was able to achieve 90% of my yearly goals.
In this post, I’m going to share the only monthly reset checklist you need. It’s very easy to follow and works like magic. Let’s get into it.
Reflect on the previous month
Reflection is so important because it helps you to see if you’re on track or you’re losing focus. It also helps you get clarity on what you want and where you’re headed in life.
When it comes to monthly reflection, I like to keep it simple. Here are the reflection prompts I use if you need inspiration:
- Top 3 accomplishments
- What did I do well?
- What do I need to improve?
- How can I make next month better
- This month’s favorites (this can be anything I enjoyed that month)
when you keep your reflection short and simple, you’re more likely to do it. Here is a cute monthly reflection printable that you can get and use.
Set Goals for the new month
This is my favorite part of this monthly reset checklist. When I set goals and make plans on how I plan to achieve them, they are more likely to happen.
I start by looking at my yearly goals and goals from the previous month. I analyze and see what goals I can set for the new month that will move the needle. When setting goals, I love to categorize them into personal, business, school, and others. This helps me to make sure I’m improving in every aspect of my life.
Always remember to set smart goals and don’t set too many goals. Remember, a month is just 30/31 days. Writing down your goals is also not enough. Break it down and make plans on how you plan to achieve each goal. Then assign tasks to your days and weeks.
For goal setting, I like to do everything in my Notion template. This is honestly the best thing I’ve created this year and it works perfectly for me.
Budget
This is something I am trying to do better this year.
Budgeting is the strategic allocation of income and expenses to achieve financial goals and maintain control over spending. It helps prioritize spending, build savings, and reduce debt, offering a roadmap for informed financial decisions and providing peace of mind.
I got this finance and budget notion template and it has been making things so much easier.
Deep clean and declutter
This is essential especially if you don’t have the time to clean regularly. Use this day to clean your entire space deep.
This is the day I change my bedsheets, do my laundry, deep clean my bathroom, arrange my closet, and declutter my devices.
Pro tip: Listen to a podcast or audiobook when doing this. It makes it more enjoyable.
I don’t know if I’m the only one but deep cleaning instantly puts me in a better mood (comment below if you can relate) and always comes with a sense of relief.
Self-care
This is something I love to do at the very end. It’s like a reward. This is the day I love to do my everything shower routine.
Firstly, I love to shave my face (let me know if you would love to see a tutorial in the comments below) and then do my face mask, deep conditioning wash my hair, scrub my body and shave, and then finally do my skincare routine.
Once I’m done, I wear clean fresh pajamas, order takeout, and binge-watch K-drama (I’m obsessed). This is what selfcare means to me.
There are so many things you can do that fall under self-care. You should figure out what you like and incorporate it into your life, especially at the end of every month. You deserve it.
