That Girl Habits That Made Me a Better Person
Table of Contents
Ever since I decided to become That Girl, I’ve been experimenting with different habits and routines, trying to figure out what I truly need in my life right now.
If you’re not familiar with the That Girl aesthetic or lifestyle, she’s the girl who has her life together. She’s intentional, soft yet strong, glowing from the inside out, and flourishing in every area of her life mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Becoming her isn’t about perfection. It’s about becoming the best version of yourself.
In this post, I’m sharing the That Girl habits that changed my life. The ones that made a real difference and helped me feel more in control, grounded, and happy. I’m not going to mention the obvious ones like “drink more water” or “work out consistently” because you already know those matter (and I’ve already covered them in my That Girl Morning Routine).
These habits are deeper. They shifted something in me, and I know they’ll do the same for you.
Why Habits Matter So Much
Habits are the tiny, everyday things we do that shape our lives. They’re automatic behaviors we develop through repetition, and over time, they determine our routines, our mindset, and even our success.
Good habits help you stay consistent, reduce stress, improve your productivity, and create a lifestyle that feels good, not just looks good. The goal is not to copy someone else’s routine but to figure out which habits you need the most in your current season.
That Girl Habits You Need to Try
1. Waking Up Earlier (Even if You’re Not a Morning Person)
I was never a morning person, but when I started waking up earlier, I realized how peaceful and productive my days became. I got more done, felt less rushed, and still had time to wind down with a few K-dramas or go out guilt-free.
Tips that helped me wake up earlier:
-
Go to bed earlier (even if it’s just by 30 minutes)
-
Gradually adjust your wake-up time (start with 30-minute increments)
-
Always have something to look forward to in the morning
-
Keep your phone across the room so you have to physically get up to turn off your alarm
2. Reducing My Screen Time (Mindless Scrolling Had to Go)
At one point, I was spending 6+ hours a day on my phone, and I wasn’t proud of that. I could’ve been learning a skill, reading, writing, or doing anything else.
So I deleted the apps I wasted the most time on, and set app timers for others. I also stopped using my phone for the first hour after waking up and the last hour before bed.
Now my average screen time is around 4 hours daily, and I’m way more intentional with how I spend my time.
3. Scheduling Regular Health Checkups
Health is wealth, and as I am getting older, I have been more conscious about my health. I now get a yearly full body checkup, quarterly eyes and dental checkups, and I always go to the doctor whenever I’m not feeling good instead of self-diagnosing myself. I have also been researching for a good gynecologist because, as a lady, you need to make sure everything is fine down there.
4. Learning Time Management (The Habit That Keeps Me Sane)
Time is the most valuable thing we have. When I was a student, managing my time helped me avoid stress and burnout. Now, as a full-time blogger, time-blocking and batching tasks are what help me get things done efficiently.
I batch my content planning, product creation, and admin tasks on separate days so I’m not all over the place. This habit alone has helped me reach most of my monthly goals.
5. Continuous Learning (I Never Stop Learning)
Just because I’ve graduated doesn’t mean I am done learning. Thanks to my blog, I have picked up a lot of helpful skills, such as email marketing, graphic design, SEO, and much more. I am currently learning video editing and how to use Lightroom because I am planning on starting to create content for Instagram and TikTok. One place I always go to when I want to learn something, especially the basics, is YouTube. YouTube is such a goldmin,e and it’s free.
6. Becoming More Spiritual
Getting closer to God has brought me so much peace and clarity. This year especially, I’ve been intentional about my faith, praying consistently, learning more about my religion, and building a stronger spiritual foundation.
Spirituality isn’t just about religion. It’s about grounding yourself in something bigger, trusting the process, and taking care of your soul.
7. Taking Skincare Seriously
You already know I love skincare. It’s one of my favorite things to talk about. I’m always trying new products and routines, but the one thing that changed my skin was being consistent.
Skincare isn’t just about looking good; it’s about taking care of the largest organ in your body. I now have a solid morning and night routine that includes cleansing, hydrating, treating, moisturizing, and of course… wearing sunscreen daily.
Want suggestions? I’ve posted about the best:
Start where you are. Build your routine slowly. And be patient, your skin will thank you.
8. Doing Weekly Reset Routines
Every week, I take a little time to reset. I clean my space, reflect on my week, track my habits, set new intentions, and prep for the days ahead. It keeps me grounded and helps me show up as That Girl, not just online, but in real life.
9. Protecting My Energy
Not every notification needs a reply. Not every invite needs a yes. I’ve learned to be selective with where I spend my time and who I spend it with.
Protecting your peace is a habit, too, and it gets easier with practice.
Final Thoughts on That Girl Habits
These habits genuinely changed my life, not overnight, but slowly and surely. And I’m still evolving, still learning, still figuring it out as I go. That’s the beauty of this journey.
If you want to become That Girl, start with small shifts. Build your own list of habits. Be consistent. And most importantly, give yourself grace.
