Spending a lot of money on makeup especially when just starting is not necessary. When I started playing around with makeup, I always used to go for great drugstore products because their quality is amazing and keep improving.
In this post, I will be sharing all the great products that you can use to create a full face everyday look and the budget will still be around $50. Yes, it is possible.
So for each makeup product(e.g foundation), I will be giving you 2 great options you can choose from and I will write a little review about each of them from my personal experience(if I have tried it before). I also want you to know that the prices vary depending on the retailer so bear that In mind when you check for the price later on and see that it’s slightly different from what I stated here. make sure you also know these 5 things I wished I knew when I started using makeup.
Without any further delay, let jump right into it
Primers
Table of Contents
Maybelline baby skin instant pore eraser primer = $5.94
LA girl pro prep HD face primer = $5.29
I always see people saying that primers are not important and I wanted to clarify that statement. Primers are very important. By applying a primer, you have taken the first step to a flawless makeup look.
These two primers were what I used when I was starting. They are lightweight and easy to apply. They help to keep your makeup in place for a long time. The great thing about them is how affordable they are so you should consider getting one.
Foundations
Maybelline fit me matte + poreless foundation = $5.34
This has to be one of my favorite drugstore foundations of all time. It is affordable and it has medium buildable coverage. It looks flawless on the skin and it is great for beginners.
Wet n wild photo focus foundation = $4.98
This is also another great foundation for those that want something buildable yet get a flawless matte finish. It is affordable as you can see and for the quality you get from it, I will say it is worth trying it out.
if you need a little more options, here are my 5 drugstore foundations for oily skin.
Concealers
La girl pro concealer = $4.99
If you haven’t heard of this concealer at least once in your life, then you’re probably living under the rock. This baby right here is one of the best drugstore concealers I have ever laid my hands on. It was the first concealer I have ever used and I am still in love with it. It comes in a lot of shades and it is perfect for concealing under your eyes and the darker shades are great for contouring.
E.L.F 16Hr camo concealer = $5.00
When this concealer first came out, a lot of people were surprised and amazed by how good it was to the extent that they started comparing it to the high-end concealers. It is great for those that want a matte finish and it dries down quickly so bear that in mind. If you have dry under eyes, I will suggest you stay away from it and try the LA girl pro concealer instead.
I wrote a huge post about the 10 best drugstore concealers a little while ago so go check it out.
Setting powders
Coty Airspun loose face powder = $5.97
This is such an amazing powder to use to set your face. It is very translucent, lightweight, and gives no flashback.
E.L.F prime & stay finishing powder = $2.00
This is another great setting powder that is almost too good for the price. It holds your makeup in place for a long time and it’s excellent for days you don’t want to put any makeup but want to have the oil on your face controlled.
Brows
E.L.F instant life brow pencil = $2.00
Essence designer pencil = $1.99
These brow pencils are great for anyone that is just beginning to learn how to draw their eyebrows. They are very easy to handle and are well pigmented.
Blushes
Wet n wild color icon blush = $2.98
E.L.F primer infused blush always spicy = $6
A lot of people like to argue that blush is not necessarily important but personally feels like it brings your face to life and these two are soo amazing. Their colors are magical and a little can go a long way.
Bronzers
Rimmel natural bronzer = $3.97
Essence sun club Matte bronzing powder = $4.99
Bronzer is very important if you want to make your face more defined. It acts almost like a contour.
These two bronzers are soo good. They are very easy to work with because they are easy to blend into the skin. Another great thing is that for the price, you get a lot of product inside the pan so you don’t have to worry about running out any time soon.
Highlighters
E.L.F baked highlighter = $4.00
Wet n wild megaglo highlight powder = $4.98
If you know me, you know how obsessed I am with highlighters. I have a lot of them and I am still buying more.
these 2 highlighters are a must-have. They are easy to apply and will give you the glow you deserve.
Eyeliners
La girl gel shade eyeliner = $1.99
E.L.F expert liquid liner = $3
I don’t normally wear eyeliner every day but I feel like it’s necessary for days you feel like drawing more attention to your eyes.
These two eyeliners are so amazing. They are very pigmented, easy to use, and for the price, I think they are worth it.
Mascaras
Wet n wild mega slim mascara = $3.86
E.L.F lengthening & volumizing mascara = $4.00
I love mascara and I can’t go a day without applying it. I just love how it makes my eyes more attractive and my lashes stand out.
The reason I chose these was not only because they are affordable but because they add volume to your lashes evenly, they are clump-free and the brush is soo amazing.
Setting spray
Elf mist and set setting spray = $4.00
I am recommending only one setting spray because this is the only good affordable setting spray I can think of. It smells soo good and it does its job very well. You can’t go wrong with this setting spray.
And that’s a full face of drugstore makeup.
The total is $36.64
How crazy is that? We didn’t even make it to $50. I got this figure by adding all the cheaper products from each category together. If we add the pricer products, the total will be $51.27
I think that’s amazing because we are still around our budget.
If you decide to go with the first batch, I will advise you to use the remaining money to purchase makeup tools like a buffing brush and a blending sponge. After all, you will need something to apply the makeup on right?
I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did while writing it. I hope you found this helpful and I will love to know what you’re purchasing.
