So you want to know how to be prettier?
First of all, I want to start by saying you are pretty already. Even if you remain the way you are right now, you’re absolutely gorgeous.
It’s not a bad thing if you want to be prettier and look prettier. That is just human nature. So It’s okay if you want to be that girl that has her life together and wants to be the main character in your life.
I can’t tell you how excited I am about this because I am obsessed with becoming a better version of myself. Seeing that you are trying to become prettier (a better person) just makes my heart full.
This is going to be a long chatty post so grab a pen and paper because we are about to learn how to be prettier.
How to be prettier (on the inside)
Table of Contents
Most of the time when we talk about how to look prettier or how to become prettier, what comes to people’s minds is how to look better, attractive on the outside. Yes, it’s part of becoming prettier and we will talk about it later in this post but I think being prettier on the inside is more important. If you’re ugly on the inside, no pretty face, nice body, beautiful clothes will ever make you pretty.
So here is how you can be prettier on the inside.
Fix your attitude
Being rude is not cute. Picking on other people’s insecurities is the worst thing ever. If you’ve something bad you do that you always get called out for, try and get rid of it. This could be gossiping or body shaming. Trust me, none of that is worth it and it just makes you look bad. Instead, try and be as nice as possible. Give compliments when you genuinely mean them. Don’t talk about others in a bad way. You can literally use that energy to focus more on yourself and I highly recommend that.
Get rid of your bad habits
Habits can make or break us. I have written about toxic habits you need to get rid of and habits of highly successful people so make sure you read those. An example of a bad habit you need to get rid of is comparing yourself with others. Comparison will make you lose all your confidence. Instead, appreciate what you have at the moment and see other people’s success as motivation. Let their success inspire you. There are so many good habits you can try and pick up. I am currently working on some new habits and some of them are:
– Reading at least 3 pages every day
– Spending less time on my phone and
– Journalling
Start being more honest with yourself
This can be a difficult thing to do especially when you know you’ve been terrible. It’s okay to start over. I don’t understand why people wait till it’s a new year before they start over or start something they’ve been wanting to do. Start today. Start now. If you’ve been struggling with an addiction and you’re trying so hard to break it, start seeking professional help. Start taking small steps that will help you in the long run.
I know I am constantly struggling with my faith and sometimes my studies. Once I admitted that to myself, I know half of the problem has been solved. I am now taking baby steps to help me reach where I want to be.
Self-reflection is very important and I want you to do that as often as possible.
How to be prettier (on the outside)
This is the fun part. Let’s go over some major keys that will help you to look prettier.
Have a skincare routine and stick to it
Having a skincare routine is so essential and I can’t overemphasize how important it is to have one. I have a whole post about how to create your own skincare routine so make sure you check that out. I have a few more that talk about skincare products I am loving (I have oily skin), some skincare advice, and some of my favorite skincare products from popular brands like the Ordinary and Cerave.
Figure out what your skin type is, your skin concerns, and then buy products for your skin type. If you have severe skin conditions, I highly recommend you go and see a dermatologist. They will create a special skincare routine for you.
Start working out
Working out has so many benefits but the most common one is it keeps you fit. When you start working out, you will be able to maintain your body shape and start feeling energized. You can start by doing some home workouts. If you’re willing to commit, you can get a gym membership.
Start dressing for your body type
Don’t just buy clothes because they look cute. As yourself this every time you want to buy something.
“Will this fit my body type?”
“Will I feel confident enough to go out with this?”
“Do I see myself wearing this more than once?”
These 3 questions will save you from so many unnecessary purchases.
I am currently in the phase where I don’t like skinny jeans anymore. Currently, mom jeans, long dresses, and skirts are my favorites. I am also obsessed with floral prints and neutral colors because they look so good on me.
I am not a stylist and I have zero experience when it comes to fashion-related things but what I did was look up people that I love the way they dress and see how to style certain pieces but most of the time, my inspiration comes from Pinterest. Guys, if you’re sleeping on Pinterest, better wake up now. Pinterest is such a vibe and I am obsessed with it. From outfit ideas to quotes to decor inspo, Pinterest has it all. Head over there and start pinning looks you like. I’m sure once you look at your board, you will see a pattern and that’s how you will know what you like.
Make personal hygiene a priority
you don’t want to go around smelling awful. That will literally push people away from you. Make personal hygiene a priority and here are a few things you can do to make that happen:
Shower At least once daily
When it’s summertime, try and make it twice. You have to shower every single day. I don’t even know why I am saying this but I was shocked to the core when I found out that some people don’t shower every day, people don’t be like them. Showering will keep you fresh and smelling nice all day. You will feel more comfortable in your own skin when you shower.
Take care of your hair
Wash your hair twice a week to keep your scalp clean and free from any buildups. Get hair treatments when necessary and take care of your hair. I wear a hijab every day but it doesn’t stop me from washing my hair twice a week and getting a productive hairstyle once every 2-3 weeks. Just because it’s not seen doesn’t mean i
shouldn’t take care of it.
Get a manicure and pedicure
You can do this at home by getting the right pieces of equipment and you can go to the salon if you can and Get cute nail designs.
smell good always
You need to start using more body mist, body sprays, deodorant, and perfumes. I currently love perfumes that are not strong, have a floral scent, and last all day. I have a whole post about body care products that will make you smell good always so make sure you check that out.
keep your lips soft and plump
Lips are so attractive and beautiful lips can make you prettier. Always make sure your lips are hydrated and not chapped. You can invest in a good lip scrub or lip mask or you can easily make yours at home. Simply add a tablespoon of sugar into a small jar (I use my empty lip balm containers) and a drop of honey and coconut oil. Mix well and your lip scrub is ready for use. I keep this in my bathroom so that once I’m done brushing, I take a small amount and scrub my lips as well. This has helped me to maintain soft, plump, and pink lips. Taking about brushing…
Take care of your teeth
Who doesn’t like a beautiful bright smile? Brush your teeth twice a day and don’t forget to floss. You should also regularly see your dentist for checkups to make sure everything is fine inside there. Having a white good looking set of teeth will literally make you look so pretty.
Start putting on some makeup
No, I don’t mean full glam makeup. I’m talking about simple natural-looking makeup. In fact, that’s what’s trending right now. Use some mascara to make your eyes pop, concealer to brighten your under eyes, some tinted blush for your cheeks, and a few strokes of your favorite brow product to make your eyebrows look fuller. It’s really that easy and it won’t take you up to 5 minutes. But the effects? You are going from an 80 to a 100 baby.
Stay hydrated and eat more fruits and veggies
What you consume is important as well because, at the end of the day, it will show on your body. Drink a lot of water to flush out toxins from your body. Fruits and veggies really help with the appearance of your skin. The right ones can make your skin look smooth, be very soft, and be free from any redness and rashes. This will make you be glowing like the princess you are.
Be confident
At the end of the day, all of this won’t matter if you’re not confident in yourself. Love yourself for who you are. Always say nice things to yourself and be confident in your own skin. You’re beautiful just the way God made you.
