It’s about time you clear up your skin and I am here to help. I am such a skincare junkie so whenever I am not trying out new skincare products, I’m always on my laptop researching about them. I have oily/combination skin and I feel like the majority of people do. By the way, if you don’t know your skin type and would love to find out, then read this post. We sometimes find it challenging to figure out the right kind of products to use for our skin that will actually work for us and that’s why I am creating this blog series: combo skin must-haves. In this series, I will be sharing my top skincare products must-haves for oily/combinations skin. In the next few blog posts, I will be sharing my favorite (must-haves) and affordable:
-
Cleansers
-
Moisturizers
-
Sunscreens
-
Serums

Eye creams
It’s going to be fun so make sure you come back regularly. Getting a skincare tracker can help you to become much more consistent with your skincare routine. A great tracker like this one really holds you accountable and keeps you motivated. I highly recommend this to anyone finding it hard to make time for their skincare routine.
Without any further delay, let’s jump right into it.
Best cleansers for oily skin
Cleansing your face is very important because that’s what stops all the breakout and oily ness. If you don’t normally cleanse, well start today, and please stop using your bar soap to wash your face. In this post, I am going to be sharing some of the best affordable cleansers you can ever get for your oily skin. Choose one that feels right for you and purchase it today.

Cerave foaming facial cleanser
This is one of the best cleansers for oily skin. It cleans your face so well without drying it. It has 3 essentials ceramides that cleanses and removes oil without disrupting the protective skin barrier. It’s super gentle and affordable. You can see a huge difference just one day of use. It does the job without making your skin feel tight or dry afterward. It is fragrance-free and non-irritating. I love how simple the packaging is and it is definitely worth the $15 because a bottle can last for 5 months that is even if you’re using it day and night.
Cerave renewing SA cleanser
I decided to try this out when I saw how everyone was raving about it on TikTok. I don’t regret this purchase. It contains salicylic acid which exfoliates, softens, and smoothens skin. This is truly one of the best BHA cleansers that don’t leave the skin feeling stripped. It has a fragrance-free formula with 3 types of ceramides to condition the skin and also niacinamide which helps to fade acne scars. Another great thing I love about it is how it has a clear packaging that allows you to see how much product you still have remaining.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar purifying foaming gel cleanser
This cleanser has been recommended by over 90,000 dermatologists worldwide. That should ring a bell. After my first time using it, my skin felt truly clean. It made my face smooth and soft. My face didn’t feel the least bit dry or tight. It really gets the oil off your face leaving it smooth and soft with, of course, smaller pores. A lot of people swear that their skin started clearing up after a few washes. If you’re also battling acne, this cleanser is the one for you. The bottle is huge, a little goes a long way so typically a bottle should last months. This is a bit pricier than the rest but I believe it is absolutely worth it. You can always buy a smaller size and try it out and see how your skin reacts to it.
Simple water boost micellar cleanser facial gel wash
First of all, can we appreciate how readily available simple products are? I can just walk into any supermarket here and be able to purchase simple products. That’s awesome.
I love how this cleanser is super gentle, fragrance-free, and doesn’t leave the skin feeling dry. If you wear a lot of makeup, this cleanser is perfect for you. It removes all my makeup except for any hard to remove eye products. Mineral sunscreen and waterproof makeup come off like a breeze. Lastly, I am so in love with the packaging. It’s so simple (no pun intended, haha), clean and fun to look at. Having simple products on my bathroom shelf just makes the shelf look aesthetic. And I love it.
African black soap
A lot of people may not like this option but I really think it deserves to be on the list. African black soap has done wonders for my skin and the skin of so many other people because it just gets the job done. It cleans out your pores and minimizes oil production. This is one of the cheapest options and the most natural form of a skincare cleanser. You just have to make sure you get the best, unrefined Black soap for maximum results.
I really hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did while typing it. What’s your current cleanser? Have you tried any I mentioned above? Let me know in the comments section.
