To this day, I am still suffering from the consequences of my actions, not wearing sunscreen when I was in high school. I am still struggling with hyperpigmentation and sun damage but has drastically reduced since I started taking better care of my skin.
While I was searching for new Korean skincare products to try out because I have been obsessed lately, one product kept being mentioned. The Tiam vita b3 source serum. I was skeptical about it at first but decided to get one when it was on sale on style Korean.

What is the Tiam vita b3 source serum?
The Tiam vita b3 source serum is a dual-powered serum with 10 percent Niacinamide and added 2 percent dose of Arbutin to brighten skin, prevent the melanin production, and combat the formation of dark spots.
This lightweight serum also works to fight breakouts, control sebum for more balanced skin, and boost collagen production for a skin-firming and anti-aging effect too! Ideal for sun-damaged skin.

How to use
- Apply 2-3 drops evenly on your face after toner.
- Reapply on areas of concern and gently tap until fully absorbed.
- Apply a layer of sunscreen after application.
My opinion on the Tiam vita b3 source serum
Packaging
It came in a simple minimal package which was nice the bottle has a dropper and you can see the amount of product you have inside.
Recently, they changed the design package of this product so don’t worry if yours doesn’t look like mine. It’s still the same product. But I honestly prefer the old design. As I said, you can see how much product you have left and I feel like a lot is going on with the new design.
Scent and consistency
It was a watery consistency which makes it fast absorbing and nonsticky. This was a plus because you can easily layer it together with your other products. As for the scent, it’s fragrance-free.
Skin purging
When I started using this product, my skin started purging.
Skin purging occurs when you start using a new product that contains chemical exfoliants such as alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, and retinoids, all of which speed up the rate of skin cell turnover (the rate at which you shed dead skin cells and replace them with new cells)
Skin purging typically looks like tiny red bumps on the skin that are painful to touch.
Although niacinamide rarely causes purging, I started reacting when I added Tiam vita b3 source serum to my routine.
So I went back and checked all the products I was currently using in my skincare routine and noticed that a lot of them already had niacinamide inside like the good molecules niacinamide brightening toner. I was exposing my skin to a high amount of niacinamide.
So here is what I did.
Skin purging solution
I continued to use the good molecules toner in the morning only and then the Tiam vita b3 source serum at night. I also don’t apply it directly. I add a few drops to my moisturizer and then gently rub it all over my face. I have no skin purging anymore 🙂
So far I have to say I am very pleased with the results I am getting. The process is quite slow but very promising. My dark spots from my recent breakouts are fading away and my skin tone is finally becoming more even. I absolutely love this product and I think it’s a great serum for discoloration.
It says it also helps with sebum production. I don’t think I have seen any difference in my serum production because I still wake up oily AF but my pores have definitely shrunk. They are less visible and my skin texture has really improved.
