Nothing is more annoying than breaking out before a big day. Having a combination skin is the most complicated thing ever. On a normal day, your t-zone is oily and your cheeks are kind of dry while the rest of your face is normal.
I have suffered from a lot of skin problems like blackheads, Whiteheads, pimples, dark spots, acne scars, dark circles, etc.
luckily for me, I am someone that loves trying out new skincare products. Every single time I go shopping in any departmental store like Shoprite and spar, I spend At least an hour in the body care section, reading the back of skincare products and end up buying so many that I don’t need at the moment just to try it out.
Having skin issues all the time have made me trying out so many products of different price ranges and today, I will be sharing my top 5 face masks under $20 (N8000). I am sure you’re wondering……
How does face masks help with acne and similar problems?
The answer is very simple. It lifts away dead skin cells, dirt and excess oil that block the opening of pores.
When pores become blocked, it leads to blackheads and pimples. Using a face mask regularly removes pore-clogging impurities to help reduce the likelihood of outbreaks. Face masks also improve the texture of your skin and make it look smoother and brighter.
Now tell me a reason why you won’t purchase one. These face masks I am about to talk a little about having been amazing for me. They work like magic and get the job done and I will highly recommend you try one or two of these:
1.Aztec Indian healing clay
I decided to start with the best. If you haven’t tried this mask yet, definitely should.
the top 5 face masks list will be incomplete without this mask.
This mask is said to be the most powerful and I totally agree with that saying. After one use, you will start noticing a huge difference in your skin. It has a very basic package but you get a lot of product in that container.
There was a time it was one of the most talked about face mask on YouTube. After watching the reviews, I was mind blown and I knew I had to try it so I bought one. Trust me, it was worth the hype.
You get to mix it with apple cider vinegar or just water if you have sensitive skin and after application, your face and pores will feel super clean, your skin will be plump and if you have any inflammation, it will go down. If you’re buying only one mask, I will recommend this one!
2. Shea moisture African black soap clarifying mud mask
Any product you see from the brand shea moisture, just know it’s amazing. Shea moisture clarifying mud mask is one of my favorites till date.
Its active ingredients include Tamarind Extract (a natural astringent), Tea Tree Oil (antiseptic) and African Black Soap (a natural remedy for blemished skin) that help stop acne in its tracks.
It’s excellent for those with acne and dry skin because it has a texture which exfoliates dead skin cells while penetrating deep into your pores to clean them.
3. L’Oréal Paris detox & brighten pure clay mask
L’Oréal has several face masks but this is my favorite. It’s a face mask that is perfect for everyday use after a full face makeup day. It has charcoal as an active ingredient which detoxifies the pores, leaving it clean and clear.
4. yes to tomatoes detoxifying charcoal mud mask
Yes to is a cruelty-free skincare brand that you will fall in love with. They literally have products for any skin problem you can think of and they are quite affordable.
Their charcoal mud mask also had charcoal in it as an active ingredient which drives dirt from your pores.
All you need to do is to apply it and leave it on for 10-15 mins then wash your face to reveal your plump squeaky clean face. It also doesn’t dry out the skin so it’s perfect for those with dry skin.
5. freeman feeling beautiful charcoal & black sugar polishing mask
Freeman has the cheapest but most amazing products. This only is less than $4 (N1500) but trust me when I say it gets the job done.
One thing I love about this mask is the fact that it serves two major purposes. You apply it as a mask and use it as a face scrub when washing it off Leaving your skin soft, clean and poreless.
It’s now time for you to try out some new face mask. Choose one from the top 5 face masks above and try it out.
