All this while, I thought that the beauty of Joseon sun relief sunscreen was the best-selling sunscreen in Korea but I was wrong! The round lab birch juice sunscreen was! It was always sold out on olive young and has gone viral on TikTok so of course I had to try it out as well.

In this post, I will be sharing everything I know about the round lab birch juice sunscreen including my honest thoughts and if I think it’s worth the hype. Let’s get into it.

Round lab birch moisturizing sun cream

First of all, Round Lab was a brand I never heard of until recently after the sunscreen went viral. It’s a Korean brand that launched in 2017 and its products target those with tired skin due to stress. They make use of calming ingredients such as mugwort, birch juice, and soybean.

The round lab birch juice sunscreen is a chemical sunscreen with SPF 50 PA++++ that is hydrating and very lightweight. On the site, it says it’s A hydrating sunscreen that does double duty as a moisturizer, for all skin types.

As someone with combination skin, I can agree with this statement. However, I have seen people with dry skin say it’s not moisturizing enough so if you have dry skin, consider applying a moisturizer first and then the sunscreen.

Star ingredients and filters

The round lab sunscreen is packed with so many great ingredients that are good for the skin such as:

• Niacinamide
• Ascorbic Acid
• Vitamin E
• Adenosine
• Glycerin
• Sodium Hyaluronate
• Allantoin
• Birch Sap
• sprinkled with a couple of plant extracts

As for the filers, we have the following:

• Uvinul A Plus – for UVA protection
• Uvinul T 150 – for UVB protection
• Tinosorb M – which provides both UVA & UVB protection
• Uvasorb HEB – also provides both UVA & UVB protection.

Packaging

The round lab birch juice sunscreen comes in a 50ml squeezable bottle with the cutest artwork. It’s so easy to dispense product and you can control how much you need which is great.

Scent and texture

The round lab Sunscreen does contain chamomile oil but no noticeable scent. As for the texture, it’s very creamy yet so lightweight. It blends like a dream and doesn’t feel sticky or greasy. I sometimes find myself struggling to actually apply one teaspoon (the recommended amount of sunscreen) depending on the formula especially during summer because of how heavy it feels on my skin but with this, I can see myself using it daily.

My thoughts

To be honest, I understand what the hype is all about. The round lab sunscreen is so good. My combination skin loves it. As a black girl, this sunscreen leaves zero white casts which I really appreciate, and didn’t experience any faint purple tint as I did with the beauty of Joseon sunscreen.

It’s alcohol and fragrance-free and very hydrating. It also layers really well under makeup and doesn’t clog the pores which I really appreciate. If you have acne-prone skin, you will absolutely love this product as well.

The only downside is the price. It costs about $28, twice the price of most Korean sunscreen. If you can afford it, I highly recommend you get it because you definitely won’t regret it. I currently have another one in my cart and I will take advantage of any sale that comes up.
