Summer morning routine
Table of Contents
Summer is one of my favorite seasons of the year. Waking up to bright days, longer days, ice cream, and picnics is such a vibe. During the summer, schools are usually on break and I love to use my summer break to be as productive as I can while still having fun.
In this post, I will be sharing the best, simplest, and most productive summer morning routine that you can follow to finally become that girl, start romanticizing your life, or to even reset your life.
Remember that you can always add more things to your summer morning routine since we now have longer days or even swap some things out. This is just to give you an idea of what the ideal summer morning routine should look like.
Productive summer morning routine
Wake up early
I know you’ve probably heard this a million times already but the Early bird gets the worm. Waking up early allows you to have more time in the day and get more done.
I like to wake up around 6:00 am when the sun is just rising because of how peaceful and quiet that time is. I love to use that time to pray, journal, and study (if I have to).
If you have a hard time waking up early, here are a few tips to help you get started
- Sleep early the night before
- Make a list of all the things you want to do the next day
- Write down one thing you look forward to the following day
- Start slowly. Set your alarm 30 mins earlier than usual, then increase the minutes as you adjust.
- Keep your phone far away so that you will have to leave your bed to turn it off.
I hope this helps
Make your bed
Another cliché but making your bed immediately after you wake up will stop you from going back into it. This will probably take you less than 7 minutes to do but it can boost your productivity.
Don’t go on your phone for the first few hours
This one can be hard but once you start doing it, you will absolutely love it. Going on your phone immediately after you wake up is not healthy. With all the bad news everywhere on social media, you don’t want to consume that first thing in the morning. My mental health could never!
I stopped going on my phone immediately after I woke up when I realized how much time I spend scrolling and switching from one app to another. So here is what I did to help me with that
- Turn off all social media notifications: I learned this from a YouTuber and I can’t thank him/her enough. I don’t get notifications distracting me during the day and I don’t wake up to them either. It’s such bliss.
- Limit your screen time: I’m not sure if androids have the feature but with your Apple devices, you can set how many minutes or hours you want to spend on each app on your phone. You get a warning when you have only 5 minutes left and it closes the app once the time is up. Resist the urge to continue using it after.
Drink some water
Summer days are hot so make sure you’re well hydrated. I have been adding some lemon, cucumber, and strawberries to my water and it has really helped me to drink more water. Make sure you have a bottle with you everywhere you go.
Open up your windows
This is totally optional but I love letting cool morning fresh air into my space every single day. Having a well-ventilated space is very important for your health. If you can’t do this daily, make sure you’re doing it weekly or bi-weekly.
Move your body
Summer time comes with a lot of junk food. Make sure you’re moving your body in some way every day to stay fit. You can try stretching, yoga, running, going to the gym, or home workouts. Working out in the morning is the best time In my opinion because you get energized when you do so and feel very motivated after.
Take a shower
Always shower immediately after working out to get rid of the sweat and to prevent getting Bacne. You can choose cold or hot showers but cold showers during the summer are the best. You always feel more awake after.
Skincare
You know how much I love my skincare routine. Skincare application is very therapeutic for me and it makes me feel prettier, more feminine, and like the main character of my life.
Knowing your skin type and getting the right products for your skin is very important. I am currently exploring Korean skincare products and I am loving them so much. They are very affordable, and effective and you literally get that glass skin effect after prolonged use. This will literally give you a mini glow-up.
Lastly, don’t forget about sunscreen. Sunscreen is very important and necessary even if you’re indoors. I have a whole post about 21 sunscreens that leave zero white casts so make sure you check that out if you need some recommendations. I am currently using the COSRX aloe soothing sun cream. 10/10 !!
Get dressed and have breakfast
Don’t spend your entire day in pajamas. This summer, make the effort to look good. When you look good, you feel good. Go have some breakfast afterward. During the summertime, I like to have milkshakes, pancakes, or chips with fried eggs for breakfast. They are super easy to make and yummy! Let me know if you want my milkshake and pancakes recipe:-)
Make a quick to-do list
Although I prefer to make my to-do list the night before, I sometimes get lazy to do so. I like to first check my Notion workspace and see my goals for the month and how I’m progressing and then make a to-do list of things I can do to help me get closer to my goals.
I absolutely love Notion and I use it to organize my entire life. This is the notion template I am currently using and if you’re not familiar with notion, here is how I use notion as a student and a very aesthetic notion template for students.
And that’s it. You now have a productive summer morning routine.
Final thoughts on the best 6:00 am summer morning routine
I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did while writing it. This entire summer routine won’t take you more than 2 hours to complete but it can make a huge difference to the rest of your day. Try it out for a week and let me know what you think about it. I’m also thinking of writing about a summer night routine. Let me know if you will like that.
If you love having routines for everything like me, then here are some posts you will equally enjoy:
- The best morning routine for school
- A simple monthly reset routine you need
- My realistic study routine as a college student
