Shower routine for glowing skin
Table of Contents
One thing I absolutely love is being a woman. I love taking care of myself and being in my feminine energy. It’s a form of selfcare and therapy to me and I’m so grateful I get to share some of this knowledge with you.
Just the way I have a morning routine, Skincare routine, reset routine, and basically a routine for every aspect of my life. I also have a shower routine.
In this post, I will be sharing my that girl shower routine for glowing skin. This routine has helped me to clear my bacne, and dark spots, and maintain smooth, even, and soft skin.
I will also be linking to all my favorite body care products and tools.
Let’s get into it.

This post is all about the best shower routine for a glowing skin
Start off with a bar of soap
I always like to start off with a bar of soap and give myself a good first cleanse. Make sure the water temperature is Luke warm because I know how good hot water feels on the skin, especially on a cold day but unfortunately hot water damages your skin.
One of my absolute favorite shower tools is the African sponge. I grew up using it and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. It exfoliates your skin and removes all dirt, leaving you with smooth skin. Another great option is a washcloth. Don’t use the soft ones because they don’t get you squeaky clean.
My favorite bar soap brands are dove and Johnson’s johnsons.
Exfoliate
Once you have washed the soap off your body, exfoliate your skin. Please note that exfoliating daily is not recommended.
During the cold days, exfoliate 3-4 times a week and during summer 1-3 times per week is enough.
Exfoliating is literally the key to glowing skin. When you exfoliate, you’re getting rid of the dead skin cells that dull the skin and make it rough.
I am a big fan of exfoliating and some of my top body scrubs are:
- Dove Exfoliating Body Polish Scrub Pomegranate & Shea Butter
- Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub Tropical Mango
Did you know that you can easily make your own homemade body scrub too? You can save some money here.
Shave
After exfoliating, shaving comes next. This will help prevent ingrown hairs and it gives you a smoother cleaner shave.
One tip I have for you when it comes to shaving is to invest in a good razor. Ditch the pink girly unnecessarily expensive razors and start using men’s razor blades. They give you a better closer shave and they are way cheaper.
Scrub foot
This is something I have started doing recently and I’m in love. Scrubbing your foot regularly will keep it baby soft and prevent any build-ups, especially during the dry season when heels tend to crack.
Finish off with a shower gel/body wash
this will leave you smelling fresh and make sure you clean any spot you missed during the first cleanse. There are so many good shower gels out there and here are some I always recommend to my friends:
- Dove Purely Pampering with Shea Butter and Warm Vanilla Body Wash
- St Ives Body Wash 16 fl Ounce Sea Salt and Pacific Kelp
- Olay – Cleansing & Renewing Nighttime Body Wash with Retinol
Skincare Routine
Your skincare routine doesn’t have to be 10 steps. In fact, less is better. I have so many posts about skincare routines, great skincare products and so much more. Just browse the Beauty category 🙂
Moisturize
Immediately you step out, moisturize your skin. This is the best way to keep your skin hydrated.
Seal with oil
After moisturizing, I like to finish it off with some body oil. This will seal in the moisture and keep my skin soft and well-hydrated. My go-to’s are :
- Neutrogena Fragrance-Free Lightweight Body Oil for Dry Skin
- NOW Solutions, Sweet Almond Oil, 100% Pure Moisturizing Oil
- Johnson’s Baby Oil
