Do you sometimes feel guilty for spending the whole evening just laying down on your bed and scrolling through your phone or just watching shows on Netflix all the time?
These things are sometimes what causes us to procrastinate and never be able to achieve our goals.
What if I told you there are some things you can do that will help you in the long run instead of just sitting down doing nothing?
In today’s blogposts, I am going to be talking about 10 productive things you can do when you are bored. so let’s get into it.
Finish your incomplete tasks
Table of Contents
I bet you have assignments waiting for you to be done or some office work that you need to do but instead, you decided to just act like it doesn’t exist. Stop doing that! You will have to get it done sooner or later then why not just do it now when you have the time? Doing your incomplete tasks will help you to free sometime later on that you can do to do something else and trust me, you will be happy you didn’t wait till the last minute to get it done
Clean your room/house
I don’t know about you but I simply can’t think straight in a messy environment. I am a very clean person so I love to see everywhere tidy and sparkling clean. Fold your clothes, sweep and mop your area, wash your toilet (please), get rid of those 50 water bottles you’re stacking in your room and make your bed. Make sure you open up your windows to allow proper ventilation and change your curtains and bedsheets when they are dirty.
Go shopping
Nothing is more annoying than finding out something has finished when you need it the most, right?
It’s always a perfect idea to go shopping when you don’t have anything to do. Get yourself some groceries, toiletries, stationeries and maybe one cute outfit. I love reading the back of products so I spend hours on the beauty aisle. That’s like self-care to me because it makes me satisfied.
Plan the next week
I started planning my weeks not so long ago and I have to tell you, that thing changed my life. Ever since I started planning, I have become more productive, more focused on my goals and happier with myself. I wrote a whole post about how to plan a productive week so make sure you check that out.
Declutter your phone and computer
this is so important because our phones get filled up with so many things we don’t even need. It could be an app you decided to try but you didn’t like it so uninstall it. Do you ever go out with your friends and you end up with over a hundred pictures of yourself? Go through those pictures and delete the ones you don’t like. Make sure you get rid of unnecessary documents on your computer so that you can free up some space. I will highly recommend doing this at least once a month.
Learn something new
This is one of my favorite things to do. I love learning how to do new creative stuff. Find out what you’re passionate about and learn more about it on YouTube or any learning website like udemy or skillshare. Did you know that I learned how to blog all by myself? It’s something I enjoy doing and it’s worth the time and effort I put into it
Read a book
I am more of an audio person but lately, I have been trying to read more. I found out that reading helps you to improve your English and build up your vocabulary. It also helps your imagination and makes you overall a better person. So if you have a book that You bought but never got the chance to read it, this is the perfect time to do so.
Do your laundry and clean up your closet
Don’t wait till you have only one clean pair of jeans before you start thinking about doing your laundry. Always do your laundry on time because you never know when you will need something. Make sure you fold all your clothes and don’t forget those on “the chair”. While you’re arranging your closet, it’s always a good idea to remove clothing items you don’t need anymore and donate them. That way, you will create more space for the clothes coming soon.
Do some self-care
I love doing my self-care routine because it’s a great way to relax and relieve myself of stress. Create a self-care routine and start practicing it frequently. You will be amazed.
Just go out and have fun
Don’t be someone that is always at home. Don’t be someone that doesn’t like to be social. In short, don’t be someone like me.
Well, I have been going out more these days and I must say so far I am enjoying it. It’s a great way to catch up with friends, meet new people and check out new places. At the end of the day, it will be memories that you will have left so make each one a memorable one.
I hope I was able to motivate you to get your life together. This is a new year and a new decade so make this one the best one yet.

Loved this! I currently have in my mind ‘Finish Incomplete tasks’, ‘Learn Something New’, ‘Read a Book’ and planning for my blog. I also learnt to blog all by myself, and am still learning.

I always find myself de-cluttering when I am bored. I tend to hoard huge piles of nonsense. I also like to plan ahead. Sitting down and making plans is always good. Thank you for sharing some of these tips xx

Unfinished tasks sometimes leave me bored or just depressed that I have so much on my plate and not enough time to get things done. I love crossing things off my to-do list so boredom with me is always a wake-up call to get something done. 🙂
