In this blogpost I will be talking about what my self care routine looks like and I will also be sharing some self care ideas you can add to your own self care routine.
To be very honest, I wasn’t a self care person till I started college. I needed to be doing things I love so that I could become less stressed and have my mind cleared up a bit from school work so I decided to put together a self care routine for myself.
I believe everyone should have a self care routine because it will help you with your mental health and Atleast you will have something you will be looking forward to at the end of the day/week that you truly enjoy and love doing.

Morning

Meditating is soo important. I can’t stress it enough. I normally spend 10 minutes after I wake up to reflect on my day and life. Some important questions I ask myself are:
1.what do I want to achieve today?
2.how can I make today better than yesterday?
3.how can I help someone today?
4.is what I am planning on doing today going to help me in the future?
5.what will be my top priority for today?
I found out that whenever I ask myself these questions, it helps me become more productive and it keeps my vision clear.
After this, i go ahead and plan my day and if it’s beginning of the week, I will outline how I want my week to go. Morning skincare routine
I love doing my skincare routine. It has become my favorite part of my self care routine. I don’t have the best skin but with my current skincare routine, my skin has drastically improved.

These are the 2 self care routines I have added to my morning time. I don’t want to write out all the things I do every morning because then, this post will turn into a day In my life post but here are 10 things you can do before 10 a.m if you’re looking for something new to add to your morning routine.

Afternoon and evening
Read a book
I am not really someone that loves reading because I prefer listening to podcasts but I always try to read the holy book( the Qur’an) every single day. It makes me feel like God is talking to me directly. One of my major resolution this year is to get closer to God than i have ever been and so far, I am doing pretty well and I must say, my life keeps getting better.
Go For a walk
I love evening strolls down my street or the park. Having a “me time” is so important because it gives you the ability to know your self better and make better decisions. Anytime something is bothering me or I need to make a big decision, I always go for a walk and trust me by the end of that walk, something always pop up.
Night time
Watch something on Netflix or FaceTime someone
This is the time I get to be lazy. Before going to bed, I love to watch something on Netflix or learn something new on YouTube. When I have someone I have been looking forward to talking with, this is the time I normally do all that. I just love laughing and being happy right before I go to bed.
Shower + night skincare routine
Showering at night helps a lot. You get to relax those muscles and you prepare your body for bed. If you want to know the kind of things I do at night, then read this post all about 10 things I do every night before sleeping.
After stepping out of the shower, I quickly do my skincare routine. It normally takes just 5-10 minutes. I can’t keep all the good things to myself so here are the 10 best skincare advice I have ever received that changed my skin for good and I believe it will change yours too if you follow them.
That is all my self care routine consists of. I love how simple it is and it helps to keep me sane. Having a self care routine is important and I believe everyone should have one. Find out what you love doing that helps you to de stress/feel at ease and try to incorporate them into your daily routine. Your life will change forever.
