College apartment: Bedroom must-haves
Table of Contents
Bed with built-in storage
If you haven’t bought a bed yet, I highly recommend getting one with built-in storage. It gives you more space to keep other things under the bed. Here is an excellent one from IKEA.
If you already have a bed, then good under-bed storage can serve the same purpose. When it comes to your bedroom, you should try to make use of any space available to create more space. I don’t know if that makes sense to you.
Bedding
Now you have a bed. What you need is some good bedding. They come in thousands of colors, spaces, and sizes
Nightstand
Having a nightstand is important. A closed nightstand is advisable because it comes with drawers that you can keep small items like chargers, medicine, etc.
You should pair it up with a good nightstand lamp. If you like to read books before you sleep, you will find it very helpful. If you also wake up in the middle of the night to drink water, this will come in handy as well.
Mirror
What’s a bedroom without a mirror? I think I have an obsession with mirrors. I don’t mind having a mirror in every corner of my apartment. there are so many types of mirror shapes and sizes to choose from but you need a full-length mirror and a round-shaped mirror for the aesthetic. A full-length mirror is great for checking your outfits and taking mirror selfies.
Dresser
A white or neutral dresser is so beautiful. A long 6 drawer dresser is definitely the best option. A Long (as opposed to tall) dresser is a perfect place to add a mirror, jewelry holders, cute decors like wall art. I use my dresser for my underwear, nighties, socks, and other small clothing pieces. for the best placement, put the dresser across your bed in the opposing wall.
Laundry basket
Most closets don’t come with enough space to keep a laundry basket inside. You should invest in a good standing one that will hold your laundry. Having a beautiful laundry basket can also serve as decor.
Storage bins
You need a storage bin to keep your clothes and things you don’t really use in place. Most apartments don’t come with massive closets and if you have a lot of clothes, storage bins will be your best friends. I highly recommend those stackable ones like this one.
Hangers
keep your closet super organized with hangers. The only advice I have for you when it comes to hangers is to invest in good-quality ones. Those that don’t break or bend easily. It will save you a lot in the long run. I love these and these.
Desk
You’re still in college so you definitely need a good desk. This desk is soo amazing and it is all over TikTok. Its adjustable comes with a timer and even a built-in wireless charging port. I just love it.
you can also go for a simple regular desk with a great office chair if you are looking for something more affordable.
Add a small bookshelf on the wall where your desk is located so that you arrange your books there and create more space on the table.
Digital clock
This digital clock is soo pretty and I feel like it will look absolutely beautiful on your study desk or even your nightstand.
Decoration
You need to spice up your space with some artwork. Head to this post for some beautiful decor ideas. If you need something that will always motivate you, then you should get these wall arts:
Curtains
Having beautiful curtains in your room can take your space to the next level. A neutral color or white light curtains always does the trick and that is what I am currently using.
Candles
I love how candles can instantly boost your mood. They help in making your room cozy. There are so many options to choose from but I love the Yankee candles.
that brings us to the end of this post, I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did while writing it.
