Starting your day right is very important if you want to have a productive day. Who else is guilty of waking up early but ended up late for work or college because you spent countless minutes scrolling through your Instagram feed or twitter timeline? I know I can’t be the only one.
I was able to change that after realizing the number of things I could get done instead of wasting the time on something that won’t benefit me. We need to know that the time that has passed can never return and that is why we need to utilize it to the fullest.
I will be talking about 10 things you can do before 10 a.m. This will help you start your day right and get done with some chores so that you don’t have to think of them again till the following morning.
You should also know that if you want to be able to achieve all the following 10 things I am about to mention, then you need to start sleeping early. When you sleep early, you will wake up early and be energized to carry them out. Check out my night routine to see all the things I do before sleeping every day, even when I am very exhausted here.
1.lay your bed and tidy up your room:
Table of Contents
This should be the first thing you do once you get up because if you don’t, you probably won’t. Open your windows and allow some fresh air into the room. Tidy up your room and trust me, you will feel better after doing that.
2.make breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and no meal gets skipped more than breakfast, which is totally wrong. I will advise you to have a breakfast menu so that you can know what you will make everyday instead of thinking about it all the time. For me, I prefer to have a light breakfast so I go for eggs with noodles or just tea and bread. Make sure you eat Atleast one fruit after breakfast. Keep it balanced.
3.Have a workout session
You need to take care of yourself. Every morning, try and have a workout session. They are soo many easy exercises that you can do and remain fit. Watch YouTube videos and learn. My favorite fitness channel is called koboko fitness. Definitely check her out on YouTube.
4.pray/practice gratitude
Start your day right by talking to God. Take out at least 10 mins of your time and pray. Trust me, you will see great changes in your life. Another thing I have been loving lately is practicing gratitude. Take some time and appreciate what you have. It will empower you.
5.shower
Hot showers in the morning are the best. Grab your favorite body wash and let the hot water rush all over your body. You will feel more awake and refreshed afterward. Make sure you shower after working out so that you can wash away all that sweat because if you’re exercising right, you will most likely sweat, a lot.
6.Read for Atleast 10 minutes
As a college student, I love to revise my notes a little bit before going for classes. You can read a page of your favorite novel or simply review your work. It helps a lot.
7.Organize your bag
This is the perfect time to make sure you have everything you will need for the day. There were days I will forget my assignments in my room because I left in a hurry. Make sure you arrange your college bag/office bag so that you won’t forget anything like I used to.
8.Write out your To-do list
Make a list of all the things you want to accomplish for the day. Make sure you prioritize the most important tasks and get them done first. This will help you stay organized and help you make use of your time efficiently. Here is a great post on how to plan your most productive week ever. Trust me, it’s a must-read!
9.meditate
I love meditating. It helps me to reflect on things and see how far I have gone in my life. Try meditating for At least 5 minutes every morning. It helps you refocus.
10.listen to your favorite podcast
On my way to class, I love listening to different podcasts. It’s a great way to learn something quickly. Try listening to some podcasts while cleaning or cooking, it’s a great way to relax. Some of my favorite podcasts are:
*Muslim central
*Boss girl bloggers
*On purpose with jay shetty and
*Loose talk by pulse Tv
These are the 10 things you can do before 10 a.m. Try some and see how it will make a difference in your life. What time do you normally wake up? What’s your morning routine like? Let me know in the comments section.

I’m trying to work on developing a morning routine. I love the organization of this routine. I’m creating a routine similar to this one. Hopefully, I’ll get it together soon. I just need to work on getting to bed at a decent time!
